Has The Famous BitFi “Unhackable” Wallet Been Hacked?
An “unhackable” cryptocurrency wallet by BitFi, promoted by John McAfee, was allegedly hacked?
BitFi Wallet
The Bitfi wallet is supposedly the first unhackable cryptocurrency wallet to hit the market, and it’s only $120. Bitfi claims that their wallet uses special breakthrough technology to protect your assets. Claiming it is better than any form of cold storage. Now, of course with these claims comes all sorts of cyber security experts and geeks to come out of the wood works and start trying to hack this device.
Not So Unhackable Maybe?
@cybergibbons on Twitter claims to have hacked the wallet and taken full control without the wallet detecting it. But he has not yet taken the money from the wallet, which is what John McAfee is waiting for. BitFi claims to have an impenetrable system that will keep your assets as safe as you can keep them, a very large claim to make. McAfee has said on Twitter than the current claims that are out there about hacking the BitFi wallet are fake, and he will be providing a video that goes over why the various claims people are making are fake, making BitFi proved unhackable.
Hackers saying they have gained root access to the BitFi wallet. Well whoop-de-do! So what? Root acces to a device with no write or modify capability. That’s as useless as a dentist license un a nuclear power plant. Can you get the money on the wallet? No. That’s what matters. -John McAfee (@officialmcafee)
